1.4L Zetec operating temperature
Hello there! Recently started having some temperature related problems with my 98 Ford Courier. After overheating and bursting a radiator hose, I worked a bit on its cooling system:
Replaced the broken hose, water pump, removed the thermostat because I could not find a replacement one. The panel indicator sensor was broken, and was replaced. Now the car gets really close to the red "overheating" zone on the dial, before the fan kicks in. As I thought it was getting really hot, I tried to take my own temp readings using a thermistor and an arduino. Inserted the thermistor in the radiator, as now the car has no thermostat, and the temperature there should be about the same as in the coolant temp sensor. The radiator fan turned on at about 105C and turned back of at around 82C. Is this correct for this engine?
Thanks!
