Default N/A to Turbo Conversion, Equation for Head Gasket Thickness

urgently need to know a way to work out how thick of a gasket i will need to lower compression for a turbo conversion.

is there any equation that can work out how much compression is lost for every extra 1mm of thickness on the head gasket on a 1.25 litre engine.

please help, im going to turbo my fezzer, brand new T2 is in the post

Roughly and i mean roughly, 1mm equates to a 1 compression point.

so if the ratio as standard was 14.1 then adding 1mm to the gasket meand the CR is now 14.0?

what do you think the thickest i could get away with would be? also does this not put extra stress on the cam belt or would the belt tensioner keep it all in check.

As far as im aware you can get away with 1.5mm. Not sure if you can use more,i suppose you could use a de comp plate and double up(a gasket each side). Timing should be ok using a single(thick)gasket but more than that i would think you may have timing issues. Arent the zetec cam pulleys tappered? Maybe you could use them like verniers?
If the comp ratio is 14.1:1 then 1mm should lower it by 1 comp point to 13.1. It will be a little higher than 13.1 as its very rough, you would only no for sure by striping and wet testing.

ok cool.

the zetec pulleys dont have any locators on them for the cam so yes all i have to do is loosen the cam bolt and physically rotate the cam/s.

if i were to fit a gasket over 3mm what would i need to do to the timing to keep it in check?

im thinking of ringing up Spesso and seeing if they cant make me a one off gasket once i figure out just what size i need.

do you think i could run a T2 on low boost with a piggyback ECU (apexi safc-2) and ofcourse a thicker gasket, also what would be a good (and safe) gasket thickness to use? really dont like the thought of firing her up with the T2 installed and it going pop before i get down the street.

also a m8 breaking his zetec-s and has high lift piper or kent cams, would these be of any use to me?
