Default Scangauge settings

I have a scan gauge in the Mk1 Focus RS I have just bought and at the minute the read outs are RPM, MPG, Average MPG and I assume inlet temp.

What would be the most beneficial setup and what figures should I expect to see in regards of inlet temp etc.

Thanks,
Connor.

Coolant temp ( as the Rs doesn't have one )
air temp 1
air temp 2
boost (map)

These are the four I will want to see when I instal one on my engine.

so you have an inlet air temp sensor in the Maf so depending on your filter set up this should be close to ambient and a second one on on the throttle body elbow after the charge cooler / intercooler. You want this as close as you can get it to ambient. Lower would be nice but unlikely.

Wow thanks for a great in-depth reply. Next time I go out to the car I’ll get that sorted!

Many thanks once again

So I have intake air temperature and water temperature set up. The only other useful ones i can see that the scangauge offers is MAP, so pressure at the intake and battery voltage.

The rest are kind of pointless, ignition timing is an option but is this something we would monitor?

The big one we are still missing is oil temperature, so i am going to look into a gauge for this.

You can take oil pressure and temp sender feeds simply by using something like this

which is exactly what we have done in ours

water temp feed comes from a sensor fitted into the thermostat spacer plate

AFR gauge has it's own sensor fitted into the download of the exhaust

NIce setup there @bigdel ! - you can program these in as extras on scangauge , x-gauge mode , but its whether or not the ecu has the option to read - i managed to program oil pressure and its consistent with analogue gauge - i also programmed in fuel pressure however when I got the car mapped the gentleman told me the FRS Mk1 ecu does not read fuel pressure?

This is for AIR/FUEL ratio on Scanguage - i havent tried it yet car is off road
