Exhaust, filter and plugs is a good start on any engine but you aint gonna get much back from the 3i lump. Personally i'd go for the erst lump and management. Its quite easy to find, easy to fit and wiring is pretty much straight forward aslong as you get the full engine harness. You'll need both ecus aswell to run the engine, radiator, intercooler and metering head.

All rst's are 1.6. I think the last frst was on a j plate. Both escort and fiesta rst use the same engine so one isnt any more of a straight fit than the other. The engine fitment wont be the problem, the wiring of the frst may be as it efi. It has a few extra sensors and a different inlet manifold. Apart from that they should be identical.
Come to think of it the frst may have a smaller turbo too.

id go for the frst engine because you get the chatter sound and just bolt a t3 turbo off the escort onto it. for the engine and all the bits you would need it will cost you around £700 im not sure what you would do about fitting the rad and i/cooler if its a mk5 though but have a search on here and www.fiestaturbo.com some1 will have done it b4.

What year's your cabbie on? Is it the one with EFi or MFi?

Did mine not so long ago. Really easy to do. Just takes a nit of time.
