Your post doesn't make sense? The temp gauge is in the car, the sender / sensor looks to be that white plug that has the brass sender on the end.

Sorry the confusion,

What I'm trying to find out is which of these sensors dose what when it comes to wiring up the ecu ? I know one will be to the temp gauge and one to the ecu ( I presume) but, what dose what in the pic ? What I'm looking for is

The one under stat ( you can just see it ) housing goes to ?
The one on top of the stat housing goes to ?

Thanks in advance

I don't think it matters as long as they both have the same values (I think some read different amounts) I would assume Ford used the same (let's say resistance) so both will read temp so use whichever you like. They are so close you can make off the loom and swap connectors if it doesn't work. I expect they are just pre and post thermostat. I wonder if the ecu might want the pre as true water temp.

Thanks
