Default engine will not rev mk3 mondeo

Hi can anybody help me with a problem I have on Mondeo mk3 130 bhp 2.0 tdci diesel when the car has been stood for a while when I start up the car it starts first time and always has done but just recently it wont rev after it starts when I press the accelerator but if I leave it for a second or two it slightly speeds up and then it will work fine it runs perfect and ticks over without a problem I can then start car time after time with out a prob until I leave it for a while, the car has covered 50,000 miles and has been serviced on a regular basis and just been serviced
Can you help please
Many thanks

You need to visit the dealer and get the latest level engine ecu download, just had mine done as it was doing the exact same thing, cost me Ł60 with some discount!

Hope that helps.

Don't know mate, i think they say the injectors can go sligtly out on the calibration and there was a later level of software released for the poopr warm start ( mine only had the problem once warm! ) if it was cold, it would start and rev fine.

I just googled the problem and found others had the same issue and that cured it, i went to fords and explained and they agreed.

Hi, hoping someone reads this old thread, my focus runs fine but every so often the revs go altogether, could be at traffic lights or on motorway it still ticks over and if you turn off and try starting a few times it goes back to normal for a week or so, its driving me mad, no fault codes come up on diagnostics. Any ideas anyone please?
