Hi. New here and looking for advice.

02 1.6 focus. Looking at getting some grunt noise from the engine. And will removing the centre box and replacing with straight pipe do it? Not interested in any more grunt. Car has a few technical issues I need to sort so while I'm at it.

Seen a few made up pipes on ebay that straight replace the box. But I'm more than capable of doing it myself.

The technical issues are (hold on to your hats,lol) brake pipes need replacing, rear brake cylinders need replacing, got these parts and just need to fit and make up the pipes, clutch is in need, need to get that and I know how to do it.

Dash has an issue with the speedo if anyone can help with that, intermittent problem, I know its a common fault with focus, all other dash works, just not speedo or millage. Well now and again anyway.

Also EML has a habit of popping on now and again. Seemingly at random, but noticed it comes on after engine is warmed up and after a few miles. Sometimes it wont come on at all others stays on for days. Its a bit random and hard to pin point when it does come on to help diagnose it. Could it be a sensor issue on axhaust? If I get new lamba sensor will I need to plug the car in?

But main one is the exhaust, can I replace centre box with no problems? Or if I went decat would that be easier, I know the mot will be a problem and could just put it back for it. But that's a lot.of flaffing around imo.
