Default Focus St 225 ESP SYSTEM FAULT

Hi all,

My Ford Focus ST 225 2006 has a very annoying issue;
When I select 6th gear and am doing say 30mph, if I put my foot flat to the floor, (Still in 6th) I get an ESP System Fault, and loose the majority of the cars power as the turbo switches off. I have replaced the Fuel Rail Pressure Sensor but am still having the exact same issue. Does anyone have any suggestions? Or know what the actual issue is, I'd appreciate all suggestions and help.

Thanks for your time.

Jordan

Could be the MAF sensor, but to be honest, your best of plugging it into a diagnostic machine to see if any codes come up.

Don't know if pulling the kam fuse would help the problem.

Hi,

Many thanks for your responses.

The issue was diagnosed today with three causes.

1) there were two leaks in the air flow pipes
2) the car needed re-balancing...
3) the pedal box was faulty!

I would put it down to the leak on a pipe Jordan. Might even be a loose boost solenoid pipe. Glad your getting it sorted, keep me updated as i have an st 2 and more info the better.
