Default Ford focus clutch

Bought a cheap x reg 1.4 focus from auction last night. Only to realise after that the clutch is slipping. Not sure if im keeping/selling the car yet but I may get the clutch done.

How hard are they to do? Ive never done a clutch before on anything so wouldn't mind a go! Not scared of having a go at anything.

Any advice, tips would be great, cheers!

The gearbox needs to come out the bottom so make sure the car is high enough.

Make sure you have an alignment tool.

Make sure you change the concentric slave cylinder and it would be a good idea also while it is out to change the speed sensor which is tricky to do when the box is in the car.

DIY'ing it, it is always good to have a helper for the heavy lifting part of the job as well. You may not think gearboxes are heavy if you just pick them up, but when trying to wriggle them in/out of position when balanced of a jack head they can be very tricky on your own.

Battery and battery tray out, airbox out.ball joints undone and dropped.driveshafts out, gear cables disconnected, clutch pipe disconnected. All except one bellhousing bolt out, starter motor off. Support the engine, undo and remove the gearbox mounting, undo the last bellhousing bolt and remove the gearbox. Don't forget to disconnect the reverse light switch and speed sensor.
