Default fuel smell!!

hello guys!!!

just a quick one!! when driving in my standard 4x4 sapph there is a strong smell of petrol.
the tank isnt leaking and all of the pipes are ok and was just wondering what else it could be!!!
any suggestions would be greatly accepted!!

does the smell come true the vents inside your car?

ive only done 100 miles since i got it back in january, its completly standard and only does 200 miles to the tank


and i drive it like an old woman as well!!!

Hi,

Just a thought...

I had a 2wd saph and it developed a similar problem... turned out to be a fuel hose/line going porous ( the one next to the injector rail)... Apparently it was a problem with lots of older sierras due to degredation over time...

I'd be a bit suspicious about something if your only getting 200 to a tank unless you're gunning it. id maybe have another look at the fuel lines
