Default Cossie Misfire

got a slight misfire on saff when you plant the throttle at low revs (when you would normally want to change down a gear), a sort of hesitation. But its fine when it comes on boost. Also is lumpy on idle and jumps about a bit when holding say 2500-3000rpm. Fuel consumption's got worse as well, smells so rich!!! Only change coil, leads, plugs, cap and rotor arm recently....

the plugs are NGK 8ES ones, same as what came out... i put the old plugs back in and made no difference (misfire's only started recently). just looked at phase sensor and rubber insulation has totally come off one of the wires... leaving them both bare... so could be touching each other or shorting on the dizzy casing!!!

put new phase sensor on today. made it idle more smoothly but has made no difference to misfire/hesitation on full throttle at low revs!!!! have looked at TDC wiring and looks fine. its still running very rich... could it be overfuelling???

its only started doing it since i've upgraded coil, leads etc. wondered if it could be something else making the ECU overfuel to compensate... before i go looking into replacing fuel pressure reg etc. what are the main causes of overfuelling? cheers for all your help by the way!

ok will do... not much to check on map sensor though is there?! nobody would have touched the co screw as far as i know! leads were ford motorsport 909 ones. also changed plugs, cap, rotor arm and fitted groupa coil...

if it's running rich, the obvious thing to change is the water temp sensor at the back of the head on the pass side - the 2 pin AMP plug under the inlet manifold just by the water pipe from the modine.

i have had similar problems with sticking and leaking injectors recently, its a nightmare, good luck fella

mite be worth u popping the injectors out and taking em to someone with a ASNU machine and get em cleaned and flow tested

ive had my car 2 years and been through 3 sets of injectors, showing the symtoms that yours is showing and worse.

like i said good luck
