Default Rs2300/rs2000 in a sierra

I'm currently running a 2.3 16v Scorpio lump in my Sierra on a pinto carb, plan is to run a rs2000 head and injection system, I know I have to modify the inlet manifold, what else needs doing? And what other looms can I run? Have the ecu and engine but not engine loom? Difficult finding an rs2000 one

330956675776.

Rs2000 engine, gearbox everything under the bonnet. £300 at the minute. I just eBayd it for ya.
You could sell the rest or keep for spares

I would stick with the 2.3 head and just use the RS cams (2.3 cams are no where near as good), RS2000 head will give a LOT higher compression ratio as it has smaller combustion chambers.

Also the RS2000 head has the thermostat housing on the back making it awkward.

Try to find the EFI scorpio inlet manifold as it will have the thermostat housing in the right place.

theres way more to than just bolting the 2 parts together as pistons need shaving or the engine will fail

I've got a whole rs2000 engine, got that for £150 with 68k on it. My 2.3 head is cracked in 3 places so I will have to use the rs2000 one

I would still keep an eye out for a galaxy/scorpio head.

Saving a few quid is just going to make life difficult in the long run...

Think ill be selling the rs2000 lump then and going over scrappy to get a galaxy head! Have spare rs2000 cams so can run them, is the galaxy thermostat housing in the same place?

I thought they where identical except the .3cc?? I know the escort boys used to swap the 2.0 l4 for the galaxy 2.3 and turbo them. I just assumed they where the same.

As far as I know galaxy and scorpio 2.3 heads are the same, both have crap cam profiles and both have bigger combustion chambers than the RS2000 head.

I fitted a 2.3 Galaxy engine to a Mk6 RS2000 and used the galaxy head, just had the extra waterway welded up, no worries about the compression ratio and with some porting/throttle bodies it made just over 200bhp...

Long time no reply! There is a 2.3 galaxy over the scrappies with a good engine, (and its derk cheap) if I was to get it I would just have to blank the rear water way as I would be using the one on the inlet, correct?
