Hi everyone,

First time poster so sorry if I put this in wrong place, searched for IMRC problems but my symptoms seem unique so thought I'd ask. The engine management light came on a few weeks ago, checked code and it's P1518 (runner control stuck open) whenever I read about other people's IMRC faults they usually say the cable doesn't move at all but my problem is that when I start the engine, the unit pulls the cable to the correct position but after about 2-3 seconds it returns to the wrong position???? Any help or advice would be helpful . It's a 2003 ST170 with 100,000 by the way. Thanks, Chris

 

Hi, have you sorted the IMRC issue with your st as i have the same issue p1518 but no mil light and when i start the car the cable does move and goes back shortly after so im not sure if i got a faulty Imrc box as i have read some where else its usually a faulty resistor which can be replace with some soldiering skills, please let me know if you have any update or anybody else here if knows anything will be much appreciated
