Hi I looking to buy mk4 escort cab as only drive auto would mk2 mondeo auto engine and box fit if so can any body give rough idea of how be done,thanks

I don't see why not your easiest option may be to buy mk4 auto escort then upgrade engine and box to zetec there are auto cabs about

 

They made mk6 escort cabs as autos but not mk4 On i think wondered if mondeo 1.8 auto box and zetec lump would fit?if so roughly what needed be done ..

 

why not use a mk4 Escort CVT box and bolt the Zetec to it.

AFAIK the escort box didnt have a separate ecu control and is purely mechanical so should "work".. just unsure of how well.

also ecu choice could be different as some Zetec ecu's have a map with the kickdown accounted for and other auto features.

Bud i've had 2 mk4 xr3i cab auto's and 2 mk4 1.3 auto's

 

Oh right thought they didn't do autos in mk4 cabs,have u any pics out interest of yours then.

 

Not got any any more bud as the escorts got the manual and turno treatment accept 1 of the cabs which i swapped for an rs turbo you can also get mk3 auto's they are hard to find now though

I've even had a 1 owner grey mk2 fiesta xr2 auto which iput a manual box in had for a year then px for an xr4i

 

Xr2 auto that diff,be nice see mk4 cab with 1.8 zetec auto lump in..

 

Yh it was the rare grey colour it came from fords as an auto (special order)

 

I've only ever converted mk3/4 escorts to manual from auto and from memory this is what I did;
removed engine and box, mc/servo, changed pedals for manual pedals then fitted servo/mc from manual car and and fitted new engine and box whether it was rst or zetec or rs2000! so basically you will do the opposite
