Hi can anyone help tonight i checked my tps on my cossie to see if it was working right and found that on close throttle its 4.9v but when i go to open throttle it doesnt change what so ever mine is 2wd so im told it should go to 0 so does this mean my tps is no good cheers for any help

 

Sound like it isn't working at all, which terminals in plug are you checking, think 17 and 11 are the ones to check, terminal 30 is control voltage which would be 4.9 volts constant, you can also do a resistance check between 11 and 17 as it has a open circuit at closed throttle then a smooth resistance increase from just open to fully open throttle.

 

Think its pins 17 and 32 on the exu mate

Yeah i did see that bud. Am i ok to check voltage straight from plug rather then ecu as thats what i done im getting the 4.9 volts on closed throttle but not going down when opening it so to me its says my tps is no good

 

umm.. im not 100% sure buddy, have you tried getting a reading from the ecu pins themselves?

 

No bud as thought it would be better to go straight to plug itself. if im getting the 4.9volt on closed throttle then i must be testing it right. I just need someone to confirm im ok to check voltage from plug rather then ecu

 

Quickest way if you can put on a collins monitor or pectel see what the ecu sees

 

No LOL, by checking at the plug you are measuring the input, that won't vary as the potentiometer (TPS) is not connected. You need to measure at the ECU.

Also PF01 (2WD) should be open circuit at idle.

By the way the tps is still connected I just pulled the cover off back of plug so I could get to wires. checked it tonight and is 4.9 on closed throttle an on full throttle goes down to 0.5 so must be working ok
