Help!!
i am putting my 3 door back together and have a problem with power steering.
for the 1st 5 mins everything was ok and the the steering went siff and the pump stopped making the wuring noise on full lock.
steering pump i thought, changed the pump and bingo it worked and made the wuring noise on full lock, but after about 5 mins it stopped working again
i have now swapped the rack and still the same.

any Ideas??

 

I had this with an old pump that had been stood dry! The vains inside had got stuck in place and could not move about as they should.
I took it apart and cleaned it all up and it worked fine

 

It's all fitted up right etc and in line - seems odd to keep repeating the same symptoms

 

Yeah all fitted correctly, you can't get it wrong as the ports are a different size.

 

How do you take it apart?
