Default T3 Stages

Afternoon All.

Does anyone have any links to an accurate rundown of the differences between the different stage T3 turbos.

Thanks, Phil

Having a look online and It seems to be the following:

Stage 2 + Stage 3 have a 360degree thrust bearing and a mix of different A/R housings and different trim compressors.

Anybody have any definitive knowledge of what has what?

thanks.

as you say but depends on who manufactures the turbo so it'd be best to phone around

rs turbo t3
std compressor housing ar 42, compressor wheel trim 45 exhaust housing ar 36
stage 1 usually bigger compressor wheel trim 270 bearing.
stage 2 usually bigger compressor wheel trim 360 bearing.
stage 3 usually bigger exhaust housing .48, bigger compressor wheel trim and 360 bearing.

2wd cos t3
std compressor housing ar 42, compressor wheel trim 55, exhaust housing ar 48
stage 1 usually bigger compressor wheel trim 360 bearing.
stage 2 usually bigger compressor wheel t34 trim machined to t3 housing 360 bearing
stage 3 usually bigger exhaust housing .63, t34 compressor wheel and t34 housing and 360 bearing

4x4 cos t3
compressor housing ar 42, compressor wheel trim 60 exhaust housing ar 48
stage 1 360 bearing
stage 2 usually bigger compressor wheel t34 machined to t3 housing, 360 bearing
stage 3 usually bigger exhaust housing .63, t34 compressor wheel and t34 housing and 360 bearing

I recommend cr turbos or universal turbos.

Morning all,

Can someone confirm if a Garrett T3 with a 360 Degree Thrust bearing from an Escort RS Turbo (Stage 2?) should have this star shapped 'flinger' plate installed? I was suprised when mine was missing.

The part I am referring to is the part in the middle of the compressor housing on the right of this image:

Thanks, Phil.

Anyone able to name this part, or even better say whether I need one or not with a 360 bearing?

What does this part even do? I imagine it is there to keep the thrust bearing in place, but is unnecessary with a 360 due to the bolts holding it down?

Thanks again, Phil.

it's a spring that hold down the bearing and the bearing is standard 270 ,360 are normally bolt down but have seen 2 spring in there ,the oil flinger is the bit with all the holes around out side part of the thrust parts
