Default RST s2 Struggling start

Evening, I've got an series 2 rs turbo which is struggling to start, seems to be an intermitant problem though. The car cranks over fine and some times it will go straight away other times it takes some real effort to get it firing, when it finally does go in seems to run on 3 for a couple seconds then its all fine.
When she is running it runs fine theres no smoke coming out and it doesnt miss a beat, Just seems to be the inital start.
Anyone got any ideas where i should start looking?
Cheers

How long ago was it since it has had a good service? always start with the basics first? could be a lead on the way out.

Yer only from cold or if i leave it for a couple of hours, I've just been out in it now, stopped turned it off and it started straight on the button.
When its cold and wont go it's like its slow to prime fuel.

I would personally start with a good service mate and rule out any silly problems like crap HT leads or dizzy cap on its way out.

Unplug the cold start valve and see if it still does it

Mine does this, but only ever if left for half hour or more after getting up to temp.

I'm due a setup on new engine so hoping once its set properly and CO adjusted it'll be fine. It was fine before rebuild.
