Smile Blower not working on 1 and 2 - Focus MK2

Hi

Weird problem - the blower on my car seems to ghave stopped working on setting 1 and 2. 3 and 4 are working fine. Most people on here have said resistor pack if it only works on setting 4?

Anyone reckon its the resistor pack or should i be looking elsewhere?

Cheers

They would be correct in saying so

Reason why it works on pos 4 is because that is direct live, i.e. full speed, hence the resistor pack is not required.

Sorry it works on 3 and 4 in the car! And there is a definite difference in speed between the two so it does appear to still be working on those - just nothing on 1 and 2 - and obviously 0!!

Oh sorry, totally different then, I suspect the switch is faulty, so it may be worth checking the switch out, if it's working on 3 then the resistor pack is ok, of course the resistor pack could just have failed on those two postions, but it's unlikely, on MK1 it ALWAYS fails totally, hence no position 1-3.

When the MK1's burnt out resistor packs, the immediate cause is actually down to poorly fitted pollen filters, due to the position of them they would let water past into the heater motor IF they were not fitted correctly, which would cause it to sieze and cause resistance= burnt out resistor pack, don't hear of it really on the MK2's.

Default Where do I find the resistor pack

I have the same problem, not working on 1 or 2. I got a new resistor pack and went to fit it, but it does not seem to be behind the glove box. Is it in a different position for a Mk2 ?
