I have a j reg 4x4 saph cossie running stage 3 i only got it yesterday and think i have been stitched up! when you start it from cold it missfires and gives loads of black/blue smoke once you hold the revs above 2500-3000 for a couple of secs this cleares then once it is up to temp it smokes under heavy acceleration i have been told i was sitting and not used often before i got it so i should clean the intercooler and breather system out and it will be ok but im not to sure thats true? thank you for helping!

 

black smoke tends to be overfueling as for blue thats oil. what is it like to drive? is there much smoke when warm?

 

It smokes when you boot it on boost again black/blue i didnt notice it when i test drove the car i guess i didnt give it enough i have been told poss a damaged piston that is expanding when hot so no more missfire going to do a comp test tomorrow any other ideas turbo?

 

i have this problem 90% sure its the turbo in my case anyway, check for play in the shaft that will give you some idea if its on its way out or not

 

let us no the result of the comp test. also u say stage 3 but is it? i mean is there green injectors etc? or are u just going by what u have been told?

 

Hi everyone sorry i havent replied for a couple of days been v busy! right it does have green inj 3 bar map sensor and a chip the problems are all sorted and were as follows faulty chip (new one on the way!) this was the cause of black smoke fuel! dodgy turbo and the rocker cover gasket is leaking on to the plugs hence the missfire! thank you to everyone that has helped the guys i got the car off are sorting the lot for me free of charge! oh the compressions were all around 155psi i am told this is good?
