Can't help I'm afraid. I've got blacktop fitted in mk4 escort using ib5 gearbox and standard shafts work fine.

if im honest the bottom of the box doesnt line up brilliantly. theres still plenty bolts holding it together but im looking into ways of bolting the bottom up. Possibly an early zetec escort sump?

double check before spending any money but its possible the earliest of the zetec escorts used a later box, i know the IB5 box was used in fiestas too, problem being that they werent blacktop's. digging into my memory ive seen something about using silvertop sump parts on a blacktop im sure.

Maybe an ST150 gearbox has a hybrid bellhousing to fit that type of sump? I know they use an IB5... But they're duratec. I think the duratec's use the MTX style box, which if im right was also fitted to mondeo's?

IF all thats right then an st150 gearbox would surely bolt to a blacktop block and sump, but they arent cheap, and arent particularly common. If it does fit you can put an RST diff in them.
