3 door cosworth 170mph clocks

could anyone tell me if i have 150mph clocks fitted as present can i put 170mph clocks in as a direct replacement or will speed read wrong. has anyone done this with good results.

People do it, but I think it will be inaccurate, as the Cosworth ones were specifically calibrated.
