Default Turbos

Hi guys first of all have been a great help in replying to my posts. So thank you.
I have an escort rs s2
Truing to get it running right.
So far iv changed.
Fuel ecu
Cold start senser
Throttle position senser
Check all vacuum pipes
Spark plugs and leads
Had it sent up eg timing extra.
But!!! When you put your foot down its pops and bangs then goes.
I'm presuming it's the oil going into the engine through the turbo. As there's alot of oil sitting in the boost pipes.
Would this be the oils sills in the turbo.
The turbo has literally zero play.
Are the oil sills on the compresser side which can be replaced with a 360 degree bearing. Is the 360degree part the oil sill.
Any thorts or help greatly appreciated.

See the ecu has a technical tunning sticker on it.
Metering head hmmm I'll get a new one see if that makes a difference. How hard is the conversion

sounds timing related to me, or lean. where did you get the setup? if your sure the on boost fuelling is correct then l;ets assume timing. do you have a std cam/pulley? a wild cam+std pulley could cause a timing issue. also is the dizzy ok. firstly though try new plugs and/or inspect plug gaps. plugs dont last long in rst's. oil seal in turbo would be diagnosed by a. smell oil b.smoke on overun when upto temp. smoke will be almost white with a blue tinge. the oil leaks into the hot side and when hot becomes more apparent. for what its worth your issue doesnt sound turbo/seal related. just out of intrest what fuel do you use? are you using the amal valve?

It has a standard pully but an apparent uprated cam of some sort if it does im not sure.
I really haven noticed any smoke but yes I am using an amel valve. And only using optimax fuel.
I had it set up at a standard garage not a specialist :/.
It has a brand new dizzy.
And brand new plugs.
Im not completly sure if it's fuelling on boost ok.
I'm trying to illuminate all possibilitys before I rolling road it

We set the fuel up on the mot machine was 0.6%co2 and (lean) so we set it to 2.5%co2 at 900rpm (tickover

probably lean onboost then. get it setup at a place where they know at least know how mfi works. could be timing ie fixed pully not compatible with uprated cam though i doubt it. get the fuelling sorted before you melt something. mfi is easy to setup but it needs doing with equipment to check a/f ratio ie a tuner. where are you located?
