No loom to my ECU. I just have separeted loom, wich this device came with. But that loom is too strange - for 2 crank sensors, cam sensor and without connectors for air temp, water temp, lamda
Where can I find scheme to connect to my L8. Or I need some mods to the ECU loke additional baby-bord? Or where can I find more info about this device. I want to integrate it into my car...

it connects via the std diagnostic port if you have a std loom
you will need a chip configured to pectel data stream
it needs battery live battery -ve
tx and tr connections
I can give you the pin data for the plug on the monitor if you wish
I have all the data for these units
Pm me your fax number and I will fax them over to you

They have not been made for years they display and log rpm.boost, ACT, ect, injector duty cycle, ignition timing ,co pot position and errors and have a 20 minute datalog
updated versions could also display fuel pressure and egt and air injector duty cycle and boost pot position
the mapper box unit also displayed real time modifiers for ignition and fuel and map address points and you had the ability to alter globally these parameters
They also have a 20 minute datalog and software to analyse the data on pc
collins made copy which may still be available
They were discontinued when pectel designed the t2 t6 and t10 engine management ecu's
you can buy a pc version from rp labs that uses the pectel data stream available from MSD this will enable you display the real time data on your lap top

I have std engine loom but it doesn't has the same plug. The plug of this device is for many pins(about 15pcs you can see at photo in my first post), but std diagnostic plug is for 5 as I remember. I run with MSD chip, will they work together?
PS I don't have fax at this moment. Is it possible to send the info to my email?

sub looms were made that would allow you to plug into the ford diagnostic plug which is 3 pin the 5 pin one is the abs
I can give you the pin numbers that you need to make your own sub loom
I do not have this data electronically stored it is all the original data from pectel from the 80's on that strange substance called paper
hence me wanting your fax number
I will try to find time to scan them and email them to you
The pectel monitor you have is a valuable piece of kit in more than monitory value

don't spend your time to scan, i'll find fax number.
"The pectel monitor you have is a valuable piece of kit in more than monitory value" - do you mean I just need to make some sub loom and it will work with L8 MSD chip?
Also I see this device has RS232 port, so it can be connected to PC and make data logining? Which OS can be used - windows or dos? Do you have software(driver)?
COCHYN, you are wrong but I am ready for your offer ))

you have to run windows 98 to use dattlogger and a computer with serial port,I have the software it's called dart ,I have the mapper type monitor my self i can change fuel and ignition in car, also these are getting very rare, I have a spare plug to go into the dionostic, just need to make one up for the other end,can send you pics if needed , you will need the data stream enabled on the chip need to ask stu from msd if it is,or it won't work ,hope this helps also make sure it's to work with l8 not a pectel t6 , if you remove the back I can tell you

pectelboy,
mapper type monitor - you mean windows application?
yes please send a pics - cosie@bigmir.net
in your case it connected to diagnostic plug? I don't understand why this one has connector with 14pins...
Stu told me that with his chip I can't read ecu error codes - need to buy additional software, so, may be data stream is disabled? I don't know exactly.
As I know this device was removed from rally escos with P8 ecu...

Look like it will work on l8 or p8 ,the data logging software is called dart as I said you have to run it on windows 98 edition of windows as it in dos ,I have the manual here if you need a copy , as tony said need to make a loom for the 12 pin connector to the 3 pin dionostic or the 5 pin abs loom have also the Pinout so should be easy to make a loom , and you have the serail port cable on the loom , will send you some pics as soon as I get the car out of the garage mate

Device connected successfully.
But I see some strange values at idle:
1.BST 0,27b
What this mean(I use 3 bar MAP. During initialization device show me "MAP 2 bar")?
2.Duty 95%
It mean duty of WG solenoid? But It removed... I use boost controller...
3.COpot -91
Strange value, is it normal?
4.IGNT 15,25
Is it normal?
PS NO Errors detected by device.
Please help to understand this values.

Boost works plus one bar so 1bar is 2 so 20 psi would be 2.4 the monitor reads the ecu so you co is off the scale , think mine is +35 the duty is the injectors opening times, hope this helps

2. duty is indeed boost control valve duty cycle this is software related and irrelevant to what you have plugged in even if it is unplugged
3. co pot position this should be set at 0 range is -127 to 127
it should have been mapped at 0 pot position as adjusting the co pot changes the map sensor voltage check with your mapper what he mapped the chip at
4. Is ignition timing which will change with engine rmp and manifold pressure as well as ect and act all map dependant
16 degrees is hot idle for a std map on a std engine

3. I need to screw the ecu bolt to adjust COpot to 0 at idle? (I use L8 ECU)
I thought that this setting is not affected to the ecu. I just set it as was discribed at MSD chip manual. Something like 5 turns one side, 3 turn another...
4. So, 15.25 seems like ok?
Thanks!
