Default Zetec Water Rail

Hi,

Just building up my 2.0 Silvertop to go into my XR2i and realised the water rail is fairly heavily pitted and corroded with a small hole having appeared. I need to replace it before I can use the engine.

Been to ford about getting one and its over €130 and they told me its a fiesta part no. so more than likely off an XR2i Zetec or RS1800.

Wondering if anybody out there has a cheaper/better solution?

It probably wasnt right to call it a water rail, but its a solid water pipe that runs across the front of the engine.

This is what it looks like

Check ebay or scrap yard for a Fiesta XR2i 16v, Si or RS1800.

I think Fusion Fabrication used to make them, could try contacting them.

http://www.fusionfabrication.com/motorsport/

Or maybe a location engineering firm could bend a piece of pipe for you to suit.

Thanks Mate. I'll give Fusion a try and see what they say.

There wasnt many sporting models sold in Ireland and there's even less of them floating about breakers. Then the problem with ebay is people dont seem to want to sell them off the engines and theres a good chance of them being rotten as well.

Will try a local engineering firm next day off
