Default Turbo injection controller

HELP - I need some advice from a turbo expert - I've got a 2.8i Capri that previously had a turboed engine - unfortunately that blew up so I've replaced it with a standard 2.8i engine. With the turbo engine there was wired into the loom a "Micro Dynamics Injection Computer" - I've no idea what this does. I've had real problems getting the engine to start - sometimes it would - other times it wasnt interested - so I unplugged the computer thing and its now starting OK - can someone tell me what that thing does (did) - does it control a 7th injector on boost? Is it doing any harm having it disconnected on my now non-turbo engine?

More than likely was controlling an extra injector.

Could have been piggybacked of an original injector ( if electronic ) or a coil signal or something for some sort of basic control.

if it runs fine without it, dont worry. Although surely you can see where the wires go ? And there must be a stray fuel injector or something somewhere, and some pipes ?

It uses the cold start injector as a 7th injector and will have a pressure switch connected to it that injects when it sees boost. Just unplug the cold start injector and all should be well. Its generally not needed in the UK anyway and in some installations teh factory usage of it was bypassed anyway.

Of course, also check that what I have said is true for your car, but thats how they usually work.
