2.0l pinto advanced timing
The engine is timed up and had it all run up to temperature. I've been told I need to do more on the timing? A certain degree etc? How do I go about setting this up correctly? My mate says if I find the degree he can set it up with a timing light. He can set the carbs aswell. Other problem is on the old single carb it had the vacume pipe for the advance on the distributor. On my twin 40's there no pipe for the vacume? Is this a prob? Just want to get it set up the best I can. I know a proper tuning company with rolling road is best but can afford that at the min. Here's my spec.
2.0l pinto
Stage 2 polished head with Burton B63 cam
Weber twin 40's
4,2,1 manifold
Any help will be much appreciated

I would just do it by ear till it sounds about right, then if it "pinks" back it off till it stops "pinking". Same with the carbs adjust till it sounds and revs clean and sweet. Then save up for a proper tune on a rolling road.
