i know it aint a cosworth but just been to have a look at a 1.4lx escort for the misses,guy started it up and it had a terrible like grinding noise coming from the cambelt or cam-chain,any one got any ideas what it could be as it is a nice clean car but as soon as i heard that i walked away,
any help would be good

its probly the pully on the crank shaft where the timing belt goes round there is a little bearing in it when you rev the engine the louder it goes
