Hey guys,
Im sure this will already have been answered before so would be greatful if you could direct me ... or advise!
Im doing some diagnostics on my Saph which until this weekend was running. Then all of a sudden, it wouldnt restart. It doesnt have a spark at the plug but has a single spark from the king lead to an earth when ignition is on, but nothing further when turning over.
Have a new group A coil en route to eliminate that but been advised to check the gaps on the phase and crank sensor (and position of).
Is there a how to guide for this please? Still learning!!
Cheers

you need to align the sensor lug on the crank pulley so its under the sensor, then using feeler gauges adjust the sensor position till you get the correct gap. I dunno what the gap is.
Phase sensor i'm not too sure

i beleive its 0.3mm on both. fairly obvious on the crank sensor. the phase sensor, if you take the dizzy cap and rotor arm off, you will see the sensor has a flat head screw. loosen that off and then set the gap at 0.3mm. Pretty straight forward
Sounds like the distributer is not timed correctly? Or the phase sensor is shot or needs the gap set. All the settings are in the manual. Aernt u local too me? If you need a manual iv got one here I can photo copy for u and a mate has one for sale local.
I had a problem very similar to this on my 3 door, ended up being a wiring fault on the phase sensor, I fitted a new one gapped and timed it correctly, and problem went away, so check the wires on the phase sensor as it is unusual for gaps to change so suddenly,

Checked all gaps, they were spot on. Looks like a new phase sensor, dizzy and rotor arm on it already.
