What engine is in the car? A cvh or zvh? if cvh then why noy just buy a cvh filter. They are about 3 quid from any motor factors. If zvh then im led to beleive a fiesta 1.25 works well and gives good clearence wheras the 2.0 zetec one is a tight fit

If it fits correctly and seals ok then i wouldnt worry about it really. As long as its not catching anything and the threads are ok id say fit and forget

A Zetec oil filter (EFL600) will be absolutely fine. They are a little longer and have a non-return valve fitted internally.
I buy the EFL600 filters by the pack. I use them on my CVH, 1.25 Fiesta (makes them easier for clearance when removing), DOHC (should be an EFL90) and have never had a problem yet.
