What engine is in the car? A cvh or zvh? if cvh then why noy just buy a cvh filter. They are about 3 quid from any motor factors. If zvh then im led to beleive a fiesta 1.25 works well and gives good clearence wheras the 2.0 zetec one is a tight fit

CVH, After changing my oil yesterday the oil filter i was suplied
didnt fit & the only one i had knocking around was
an elf600 which is for a zetec as it fitted i put it on the car has not been

If it fits correctly and seals ok then i wouldnt worry about it really. As long as its not catching anything and the threads are ok id say fit and forget

Believe the threads are ok, but the Zetec ones are longer (the older ones anyway)

yeh it is longer, there are no clearence issues
i will just keep an eye on it.
cheers guys.

A Zetec oil filter (EFL600) will be absolutely fine. They are a little longer and have a non-return valve fitted internally.

I buy the EFL600 filters by the pack. I use them on my CVH, 1.25 Fiesta (makes them easier for clearance when removing), DOHC (should be an EFL90) and have never had a problem yet.
