Ive been doing a car up in Track car fashion.
So now it has no dash or warning lights but a odometer /speedo.
It has gauges oil pressure ect alt warning light ect.
A mechanic tells me after Jan i need all factory standard items working as origional.
The abs i havn't used in 3 years and all its related equipment was stripped out.
I was planning on driving the car to the oulton park track and using her for the morning and driving home.
It is mot until June but can anyeone clarify the situation as it is insured and taxed and mot.
Just needs to be re mot next year.

You need warning lights for light,fogs, indicators etc.

ABS. If its all removed and the car could have been bought without ABS then you dont need it.

You need to check with who is doing it first though.

not quite as simple as that now mate, vosa can turn up at the test station and demand to recheck a car that has just been tested, and if it just happens to be the car whos owner you have been friendly with, the tester will most likley lose his licence and maybe the test station as well, its getting thats it just not worth the risk

alternativley, build the car properly............

ABS lights, they dont come on because they have too much fairy dust in them.

Engine managment lights, they dont come on because they produce too much power and the manufacturers dont like it

Airbag lights, they dont come on because they are a warning you drive everywhere like a cunt and your garuanteed to need them..........

I think my first description was not read proply.
No dash,completly stripped out,no clocks lights,abs ,airbags,no engine management lights at all no clocks just a speedo.
Theres no warning lights to light up,no airbags ,abs ect.
He reckons as they were fitted at factory i would have to replace them ,which would be difficult as i stripped all the wiring out that were for abs ,air bags ect.

as far as the abs is consernd this if taken from the new testers manual

If an ABS or ESC system has been intentionally rendered inoperative, the whole system must be removed. However, this does not apply to sensor rings or other ABS components which are an integral part of another component e.g. brake disc or drive shaft.
