24v into 2.0 twinky
Hello guys I have a 2000e 2.0 twinky and was looking into a 24v conversion after christmas. And was wondering how hard this was to do. I have a cosworth rear lsd already installed what else do I need and what problems do I face?
Surely a few guys with the right 'hands on knowledge' can advise here .....
What i know isn,t much lol but you will of course need a gearbox and correct bellhousing to fit the engine (presume your after manual box as all 24v engines were attached to auto box) . You,ll need a BOA or BOB ECU to run it , iirc the BOA is an easier conversion wiring wise the bob ECU has built in alarms/imob built in which makes things harder. You.ll need an exhaust system made up which isnt too bad though . There are other mods needed i,m sure , not sure if you,ll need to mod the sump to clear the crossmember my friend did one ages ago but not too sure here . Your fuel system should be ok with injection tank already . All i do know is its avery worthy conversion i absolutely love them and i,m slightly envious in a nice way over my mates xr4i 24v.The noise and attitude of them are awsome and not too shabby power wise either
hth a wee bit
