hey was having a boot earlier on in my st170 down a by pass. as i went to change into 6th my gear stick went loose ! felt like a cock in shirt sleeve! it wouldnt select any gears . so i eventually coasted along to safety and pulled over in a side road and called the AA. 45 mins later they came and he asked me if i was booting it when it happened and i replied yes i was trying to overtake my bro in his xr3i cabriolot and to be fair i was tanning extremly hard! "dissapointed to say the least with the focus st170 speed....there not fast or quick or nippy round town just slow but nice looking motors. End of ". The AA dude said this was why my linkage under the bonnet the rod arm had popped out. under the strain of driving hard and changing gear too enthuastically would of done this. anywho great ! drive like a grandad til it gets fixed. Anyone ever have this problem or know if its common on mk1 ST? could it be an easy fix?
