Default MK 4 Escort - Sorting the breaking

Afternoon all,

i have a few posts on this site, not much so am technically still a newbie!
anyway here goes...

My project is finally getting underway (as in its stripped!!!)
My base is a 1988 spec XR3i which i am turbo'ing
I have most things for the build engine/loom/interior wise that i got off a friend.

But i have a question regarding the front brakes.
Currently the disc, pads and calipers are all 3i spec, are these the same as turbo? As from what i can gather they are different. I want an upgrade but I cant really afford the route of cosworth breaks, seen a few cheaper ways to do, Mondeo Mk3 Calipers for instance, but i dont believe they will fit under my standard RS Turbo wheels.

So ideally i need best ideas for an ungrade, turbo calipers with brackets and bigger discs was a thought, but then i come back to the original question of are the 3i/Turbo calipers the same!?!?

Also, the rear drums, any upgrades for these from 3i.

Any help is appreciated.

I will start a restore blog soon as i can get more underway.

Cheers.
