Default Possibly a stupid question - Can I keep same ECU?

I am in the middle of fitting a Ford Zetec engine into a Ka.

The engine will not start with the Focus ECU in it but will start with the Ka ECU, so I was wondering if I could keep the KA ECU and get a chip or something to change the fuelling, etc.

I think it is something to do with PATS.

Is there anyway to disable this?

The engine turns over with the Focus ECU but doesnt start.

It's because the KA key is not paired with the ECU, you need to do so! At the moment you are simulating trying to steal the car!

Alternativly if you still have the donor car key, there is a shortcut you can perform!
