hi all this is my first post on here . my question is can you remove the escort mk6 zetec out the top without the box as when i had the mk4 cvh engine you only had to remove the crank pulley for clearance . just i dont want the hassle of dropping lower suss arms and removing the drive shafts cos the mess of the gearoil . if i have to then so be it i have all the gear to do it eg hoist & adjustable engine doofer ma jig/tilter tool but iam working out doors in road . ps hope no one else has asked same question

 

Yes can be done, but takes alot of twisting and forcing. Is easier to drop the box and then lift engine outta top.

And forgot to mention it's a nightmare putting engine back in when gearbox is left in situ.

well thankyou for reply . thought it would be bad news but so be it . will draw both out together then just didnt want to get gear oil everywhere (even when its drained ) any idea how long it takes to whip em out as iam doing it for someone else so i need to price it up .
