My brother has a 2.3 rs2000 engine fitted in his mk5 escort. He is planning on fitting 40 or 45 weber carbs. Is it possible to use the esc module from a late escort/fiesta carb model to run the ignition side of things. I know they use this on bangers for Zetec engines but didn't know whether it would fit an rs2000 i4 engine

I should think so, so far as I know that is all they do (Electronic Spark Control) they can control extra things like choke etc as well, but it's not essential.
