Well mondeo mk2 went in for its mot today and failed on one thing. The ns front brake hose was twisted and rubbing in some bit of metal. So hubby removed front calliper and untwisted it and put it back on. Ten min job and it was sorted or so I thought. Now the brakes are spongy and pedal touching the floor. Didn't remove hose so assume it didnt need bleeding plus the system was bled a few days ago. Did it anyway and one tiny bubble came out. Brakes still spongy and not a clue why. Any suggestions?

Where the hose had twisted has more than likely put a weak spot in it. Suspect the hose is bulging when your braking.
new brake hose needed probably....

Just gone for a test drive and breaks firm up when you pump them in succession but when you brake once the peddle hits the floor. Is that a lack of pressure? Getting really pissed off now!
Thanks guys

It's very easy to change the brake hose, one other thong you could check first though, check that the pads aren't siezed in the calipers carrier or that the sliders in the calipers aren't siezed, this could cause the pedal to feel spongy, even if it has been bled properly.

sounds like got air still in the system. changing the hose isnt hard providing its not got rusty unions. if you do change it, it may be worth bleeding all the brakes.

Checked callipers after untwisting it and they are working fine. Gonna bleed the whole lot again tomorrow and see otherwise it looks like a new hose. Was booked in for re test Mon morn obviously he cant pass it now its being a n*b.
