Default Intermittent fans with A/C on

Hi, first post here so please be gentle

Have had my 2002 focus TDCi since Fed but one thing is driving me crazy about it and it is only a problem when the A/C is on - I have climate control but only really use the A/C button for when I want want cold air. As I understand, when the A/C is on, the low speed fan should come on and stay on. The problem is that only happens half of the time.

The other times when I switch on the A/C, both the high speed and low speed fans cycle on and off (both at high speed), so I only get cool air intermittently. This can happen at any time, whether the temperature is warm or not and whether the engine is warm or not. For instance today its about 25c+ where I am. Used the car for 5 mins, left it 2 hours and then got cycling fans when starting A/C. Later on, left the car for hour and a half, got back in and low speed fan running as it should

I have had the condenser replaced recently and had the system checked for leaks and then refilled and he even came back out to check the pressure, so to rule out high pressure in the system. I have also checked the resistor on the fan assembly and the plugs and all seems fine. I have also checked the A/C relay and both fan relays, again all fine.

Anyone got any ideas, faulty rad switch or some sensor for instance??? (As I previously said, its a problem that is only there half of the time)

Forgot to add, the A/C is working perfectly fine apart from the strange fan behaviour

I've had an intermittent fan problem with mine and a new pollen filter cured it
