cossy headgasket
when doing a 330bhp conversion on an escos should i change the headgasket for an uprated one, i've been having mixed reviews, and if dso which one, cometic, group a, wrc etc
when I 1st done my saf 40000 miler to stage3 803's etc it held together for over 2 years at 20 psi with a standard head gasket on it
suppose you'll get told it will blow straight away
reason I change was I got a new built complete engine so change it over and the engine is still going today but NOT @ stage 3 n e more 15psi!
suppose you'll get told it will blow straight away
when i fist did stage 3 went up the road and back and head gasket leaking but my mate did his and its still going strong i think its all down to how good the gasket is at time of going stage 3
If you are going to use MLS head gasket you must have two 100% perfect surfaces or it might leak.Use ARP head stud if you want a good job.The original and Grp As are 1.3mm thick and the Comitec ,there are the 1mm and the 1.5mm,the thicker the lower compression.

I am told there are no longer two thicknesses COmetic gaskets.
i got mine about 9 months ago and the one everyone was recomendeding was the thicker one, so perhaps they have dropped the std thickness one and now only supply the thicker one due to lack of sales for the thinner one ?

I've got two gaskets just in front of me and I don't think they are more then 1.1, 1.2 mm
