Default Fitting coilovers

Hi,

Fronts fitted no probs, however the rears seem to have slightly different ends than my standard shocks. I'm sure this is completely normal but just want to check.

Do I need new mounting bars to run through the bottom on the coilovers?

Yeah sorry, its a 4x4 cossie floorpan on a Mk1 Cortina. The coilovers are for a 4x4 Saph.

No pics but exactly same fitment top and bottom of damper, although bottom one may be wider that's all.

Ok, here's some pictures.

Looking on here, there doesn't seem to be any other rear setup where the rear shock passes through the middle of the spring.

See pics of my set up below;

And the rear strut top;

On all other 4x4 set ups I've seen, the rear strut sit outwith the spring and bolt to the arm. Mine however sit within the spring and have a threaded top like the front struts??? Does anyone know why the are different?

Not seen that before on a sierra, I would have said it looks like the mounting points have been modded, but the seam sealer looks factory around the top, even the rear arm has a big bulge in it that I don't remember seeing before.

Is the rear arm perhaps from a estate model?

More pictures. The rear shock is secured to the lower arm via 2 securing bolts.

See below;

The rear assembly was taken from a 2.0 twin cam 4x4 Sierra....were they a different set up to a Cosworth?
