Default Smoking zetec

Morning all,
I drove to work the other night perfectly fine, hopped in my car in the morning and it started smoking. It's a 2.0 Zetec, I had blue smoke for about 1-2 mins then it cleared up, its running poorly and has sod all power.
Im thinking its the valve stem seals, pistion rings or head gasket.
I've got it booked in at a local tuner on thursday, would it be alright to keep the oil/coolant topped up and gingerly drive it the 12mile round trip to work?
And is there any basic way to eliminate what it could be?
Thanks.

If the Head Gasket was gone, it would be the water going first, rarely do you see a head gasket go and it just drink oil. How many miles has it done? I'd say Stem Seals or guides.
