Did you change the clutch or just the box? Give it another go at bleeding, why was the gearbox changed because it wouldn't go into gear?

my mate said his gearbox was knackered so replaced it with another gearbox off a ka and put a new clutch in it. i read up some where that we might of put clutch on wrong way round?? dont know if that was true of it its the first time ive helped change a gearbox. could we have lined up the clutch wrong also??

If you lined the clutch up wrong the gearbox wouldn't be on there now. In this case, i'd say slave cylinder, seeing as you say it has a light pedal.

Don't forget different clutch brands have different resistance from the pressure plate springs. So the new clutch may be softer.

But saying that, if u can't select gears with engine on I would agree with others and say bleeding- air in system

If it's one of those vacuum ones it's always going to draw air in around the nipple so it will never be free of air.

i habe found the culpret of the problem, there's a small pipe on the master cyclinder resivour that leads to the clutch and it was the clutch fluid so was just drawing in air!! point to make tho is that it is also just level with the max level point on the resivour.

a big thank you to all that have offered advice to me and helped me along the way. you have been all so helpful thank you fellow forders!!!!
