Heatshield fixing

thinking of buying the above to help keep the heat of my engine bay down. i know im not running a turbo but i want to do it anyways as its good practice and should help in the long run. so far my 4-2-1 manifold is heat wrapped, and as a result of this ive had to remove the starter heatshield. this was the arrangement on my red one and i had no starter motor issues. i now want to heat wrap the inlet tube that goes over the top and some other bits. what would be the best way to fix this stuff? i was thinking of going the Araldite metal route but not sure how that works with heat resistance.
what do people normally do? i'd rather not rivet anything, especially since the inlet tube is plastic amongst other things.

Heat shield can be screwed, glued, whatever. Araldite metal glue is fine, i used evostick (although i screwed it aswell) So what are you heat wrapping your inlet with? The stuff in the above link?
Yeah, just the underside i was planning to do as i dont think its worth doing the entire thing
have you got a k&n on your car, Got told today by a tuner round my way that he was asked to put on a load of chrome gibbings on some chaps rs so he did, When the bloke got his car and went off he said it felt like it wasnt running as quick there was something missing and it turned out this heat shield he put over the turbo to keep the temps down ended up sending the heat acrosswards towards the k&n creating more a warmer induction and knocked on the rollers 10- 15 bhp off the power

the plan is to remove the drivers side headlamp when i track it.
i wouldnt of thought it either before he said, Id assume it would apply to xr3i,s or in fact any car, If ya removing a headlamp id make up a pipe or something to blow cold on it, That exhaust wrap seemed to be good untill i saw what it did to manifolds

as you can see it goes to the drivers side, different to ERSTs and MFI cars. there isnt a lot of space but there is enough. there is an oval hole in the slam panel with an induction hose attached to it as standard. my plan is to heat proof the underside of the plastic induction hose thing, and possibly create some sort of shield that can split the hot/cold airflow.

ironically it runs cooler than it did since ive put these things on - and ive removed two heat shields [starter motor - didnt fit with the 4 branch and the manifold heat shield that bolts to the cast iron manifold]
i suppose another option would be to get a different inlet hose off a zetec or similar..... there must be a reason why ford moved it though..
Yeah thats what i meant. Hmm, i've never seen one like that before. As you say there must be. Is the intake to the side of the rad? If i remember correctly on the other versions it sits on top of the rad which could be heating the air, just a thought.

this is the one that got nicked when i was doing work on it:

if you see that big rad hose at the bottom that comes off the water pump, the intake goes through the front of the car there.
if you want it down the other side use a mk5 escort efi cvh cross over pipe and put your cone on top of the gear box. the frst cross over will fit under the bonnet as well as its practially the same engine
its not much of a hole unfortunately, i would have to put a hole through the inner wing. tbh ill more than likely hole saw a port in my spare bumper and then sort out an induction pipe. That with some heat proofing and shielding should be enough.
