Default hand brake problem xr4x4 help needed mot due

hi all i have changed the rear pads on my xr4x4 (rear discs) and have fitted a new hand brake cable but cannot get the hand brake to work properly i can adjust the cable all the way up on the adjuster and the hand brake still travels to high. the levers on the calipers move ok and i can wind the piston in and out ok i have so bleed them what eles can i do mot is due soon forgot to mension the hand brake works to some degree as the bakend of the car lowers when trying to pull away but still moves can anyone help.

are the calipers working properly wip your pads out again screw the piston back in get some one to pull hand brake so you can actually see them working out again if there both working be sure to get the cuts in the pistons level with the pads locating peg on the back of the pads

on my cossies the rear pads have little lugs on the back which i presume locate in the slots that u use to screw the pistons back in with but just wondering weather you been given the right cable wonder if its an estate or a granny one mate
