Default St3 engine removal ?

Hi all, i have just bought a st3 on a 57 plate with a blown engine, i have managed to get another, now the question is can the engine and gearbox be removed from the top or has it got to come out the bottom,

As well any tips will be great thanks

out the front way mate take the bumper and front panel off in 10 min's makes it so easy

thats brilliant fella thanks, just what i was hoping so engine and Gearbox all in one, how long should a engine swop take a day most,

and i am guessing its all plug and play and off you go ?

5 And half hours it took me thats push in drive out, it looks hard but its more easy than an 2lt diesel yeah its all plug and play

bloody hell that is very good going, will be doing it next friday so lets see how it goes

what would you expect a garage to charge to swop an engine over with new oil filters, oil and plugs etc ?

big job majority of garages charge £35-40 a hour and they would quote a days maybe 2 labour!

Easiest way would be to take the front slam panel+cross member off as above, same as a mk3 mondeo.

yes that is what i will be doing starting it Friday and hopefully it will be back on the road come Saturday some time
