I'm trying to wire a escort cosworth fuel pump, I have taken the pump and sender out and have found that there is a black box that the pumps live and earth go through, do I wire it up through the box or do I by pass it, does any one know what this box is there for, I think that the on the original pump and sender that came out of the car (xr3i) that the black box was not there but not 100% sure.

i would say though the black box poss i anti surge or some thing like that
to stop any chance of a spark in the tank this is the sort of thing all over petrol tankers
