i have a vibration coming from the middle of the car at about 110mph ive this for a while now ive changed propshafts for new ones and the rubber donught to an escort cos item as i cannot get hold of a saf one.
the last time i accelerated to try and get through the vibration i snapped my whole transfer box off.
any ideas would much be appreciated as it has been to various companys and noone seems to know the problem>

I'm interested to see where this goes too - I've got something similar, suspected it to be propshaft related, but haven't been able to look yet....
When you say "snapped the whole transfer box off" what does that mean exactly? like the side piece that the front prop comes out of, or the whole back piece of the housing?

 

the whole back piece of the housing mate ive never seen anything like it
the only thing i can think of is that my engine is out of line slighlty
as i have transfered it out of my cosy into an xr4x4 hatch

 

help please any ideas as im gettin beat by novas cus i have to back off at 110 due to this problem

 

internal problem in gearbox?when did the problem start?after a thrashing or when a particular component was changed(sorry for sounding like inspector columbo)-regards PJ
