Default Valve adjustment problem! PLEASE HELP!!!

Hi, i have been working on my mates 1.3 fiesta mk5 for a while now, but the valves keep going out of adjustment!!!? Now its too the point there is no more adjustment left in the rockers and there is still alot of slack with the push rods :S any ideas? Could it be the lifters? Please help!!

New camshaft and followers will cure your problem.

Yep, plus they went through a stage of eating camshafts due to poor quality, 35K means nothing

Hmmm, i did notice that the oil looked like it had never been changed since it was filled at the factory, any ideas where i could get a camshaft and lifters from for a good price?

Rocker shaft and bushes probably well shagged too. One of these engines with worn valvetrain will rattle like mad, no matter how you set the valve clearances. They seem to keep going though... Normal thing is town driving, lack of oil changes, feed to rocker shaft gets blocked, then wears everything out, even with low milages.

....and if the lubrication problem, if there is one, is not sorted, the new lot will wear out in no time too. Before you take off the old stuff, I would make sure you have oil coming out between the rockers and shaft with the engine idling and rocker cover off.. Give the engine a couple of flushes and get the oil fairly clean before throwing new bits at it. God I hate these engines...! Most of them were knackered by short journeys and lack of oil changes. They tend to blow quite a lot of carbon past the rings which shits the oil up and needs getting rid of regularly... which it normally isn't!

"replace the engine",- finding an HCS engine without knackered valvegear practically impossible i would think. This ones's done 35K and is worn out, don't say much for them really.... Could fit a louder stereo perhaps?
